RYE Case Study - Ooh la la Bespoke Wedding Design and Consultation
Rachel Hassan is a young, vibrant, enthusiastic twenty one year old from Tobermore, Co L/derry who graduated with a degree in Business and Marketing in July 2014.
When Rachel’s sister Stacey announced her wedding date Rachel was delighted with the task of co-ordinating the wedding planning arrangements. Taking her role seriously Rachel and Stacey set about making enquiries and searching the internet to source items that were affordable and unique with a personal touch that Stacey and her husband to be would remember for years to come.
To their dismay the two sisters found it difficult to find someone to give them direction or find that extra special item and felt there was a big gap in the market. Rachel attended the RYE workshops in October 2014 and in January 2015 Rachel and her sister Stacey took the plunge and set up their business Ooh là là Bespoke Wedding Design and Consultation. In a short space of time the two sisters reached an audience of approximately 1,600 likes on their Facebook page. They have flourished and found the task at hand exciting and exhilarating.
“Ooh là là is a bespoke wedding consultation and design service business that believes no two weddings should ever be the same and we strive to make each wedding distinctive. We do this by getting to know our couples, what they like and don’t like. Our aim is to work collaboratively with the couple never intrusive or domineering to add those special touches to their wedding day.
“We offer a variety of products that can be hired creating the perfect atmosphere for the bride and groom’s big day or we can source products that are quirky and different for that special occasion. With our creativity we can help them plan for that perfect wedding day, whatever their budget may be.”
“I would like to take this opportunity and thank my family and friends for all their support. I enrolled on the Rural Youth Entrepreneurship programme and found it very helpful and beneficial. This is a very worthwhile programme and I would encourage all young people who have an idea to contact the RDC for more information.”
Olga Gallagher, RYE Programme Director said;
“This is an inspiring story of two young ladies who had vision and the passion and courage to grasp it. Rachel attended the RYE workshops held in Maghera Cross Community Link back in October 2014. We know she has benefited from the advice and support which she has put to good use.
“We would like to take this opportunity and congratulate them on their new business venture and wish them well for the future”.
