RYE Case Study - DKFA

Kyle Swann and David Clements are dynamic and vibrant 17 year olds who enjoy watching but most importantly playing football. Both play for their local clubs Beragh Swifts FC and Ballinamallard United FC and have completed their Coaching Award Level 1 through the Irish Football Association.

RYE Case Study - DKFA

Kyle is currently the captain of the school football team and Davy has played at the well known Milk Cup tournament representing Co Tyrone.  They also volunteer at the local primary schools coaching soccer.

Due to their commitment and enthusiasm they have made enquiries in relation to coaching young players at a summer camp in America in 2016, this opportunity will enhance their experience and broaden their skills.

Kyle and Davy are in the process of setting up their own football coaching academy which will be fast paced, with plenty of competitions and prizes. They are energetic and lively young people and these attributes will reflect in their style of coaching.

Kyle said;

“Davy and I are soccer fanatics and are passionate about coaching soccer to young people.  We are fun and enthusiastic which will be reflected in our approach to coaching football.  We have experience working with young people and we know how to engage with the younger players so that they perform to their best ability.

“Grassroots soccer is key to any player who wants to further their football career. Our soccer academy will be different from other academies we will ensure it is enjoyable, supports all abilities allowing young players the freedom to express themselves and further develop their skills.  Competitions and prizes will be up for grabs and sessions will be cheaper than other clubs available in our area.

“Davy and I would like to take this opportunity and thank our family, friends and the RDC for all their support. I found the Rural Youth Entrepreneurship programme practical and beneficial. This programme has helped us look at how we can position ourselves within the community offering a value for money service”.

Olga Gallagher, Director RYE said;

“It is great to see that the RYE workshops being delivered are providing so many young people with an insight into self employment. Kyle attended the workshops in Mountfield, Omagh and we are delighted that he is taking the next steps to setting up a business with his friend.

“We would like to take this opportunity and congratulate them both on their venture and wish them well for the future”.

If you live in a rural area aged between 16 -30 years old and have a passion or hobby please contact Gillian or Gail for further information on the programme.
