Faroe Hosts Partner Quarterly Meeting
In April the RYE Connect partners travelled to Torshavn in the Faroe Islands for the quarterly partner meeting. They were delighted to get the chance to meet up with representatives from the Faroese Associate Partner, the University of the Faroe Islands and representatives from Vinnuframi and the Innovation House Klaksvik.
The face to face meeting enabled the RYE partners to explain the RYE Connect model in more detail and allowed all of the organisations to discuss the needs of the Faroese young people and how the RYE Connect project resources could be used to help promote entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial thinking on the Islands. Discussions are now underway to explore the possibility of having the RYE Connect resources translated into Faroese.
While there, the Programme outreach activity continued by delivering a RYE Pre Start workshop at the local Technical and Business school. Over 40 young people took part in the workshop which included many fun and interactive activities focusing on entrepreneurial thinking, branding and marketing. The workshop ended with the popular elevator pitch competition. The workshop generated many exciting new business ideas and following a quick poll at the end, found that many of the group were inspired to explore their business ideas further and consider entrepreneurship as a possible career path.
