Entrepreneurs get Pitch Perfect

South West College Enniskillen students studying Business Studies excelled at The Rural Youth Entrepreneurship (RYE) workshops, which introduced them to self-employment as well as the opportunity to participate in a Master Class on how to pitch business ideas.

Entrepreneurs get Pitch Perfect

RYE is an enterprise programme delivered in partnership by the Rural Development Council (RDC) and Advantage, funded by DARD under the Tackling Rural Poverty and Social Isolation programme. Students’ picked up business tips, received one to one support, learnt new techniques, looked at case studies and even got the chance to pitch their idea in front of their peers.

With over 20 years’ experience as a trainer, facilitator and executive coach Connor McDonough a development consultant addressed an audience of approximately 30 students in a Pitch Perfect Master Class.  Established in 2013 Momentum Matters www.momentummatters.ie collaborates with clients and supports them in moving in the right direction.  Connor’s passion lies in working with people in areas of presentation skills, public speaking, and training delivery.

Connor McDonough said;

“I have worked with the RDC in the past and was delighted the opportunity arose again. Here at Momentum Matters we stretch the capability of people to become successful and we do this by helping them identify their goals and support them in reaching their potential.  I would like to congratulate the students for their participation and wish them well for the future”.

Olga Gallagher, RDC Director said;

“With reality TV programmes such as the Dragon’s Den and The Apprentice we witness all too often how a pitch can make or break a deal.  Today’s class focused on confidence building and communicating effectively. Special thanks to Connor for sharing top tips and advice with the students we hope they were inspired and that self-employment could be an alternative option for them in the future”.
