Tranche 2 of the Manure Efficiency Technology Scheme (METS) has now reopened.

08 December 2010
METS is a technical Scheme which funds specific specialised slurry spreading equipment. METS was delivered alongside the Farm Modernistaion Programme in Tranche 1 however, this time round is being rolled out as a separate initiative.
The closing date for receipt of applications is 4.00pm on 14 January 2011. The Scheme is open to individual and collective applications.
The scheme will provide financial support to farm businesses of up to 40% of the cost of eligible items purchased. Eligible items for grant aid are slurry tankers fitted with trailing shoe, trailing hose and shallow injector slurry spreading systems. The grant available to each successful applicant will be up to a maximum of £10,000.
A series of workshops have taken place - the last of these will be held in the Lodge Hotel, 5 Drumaness Road, Ballynahinch on Monday 13 Dec 2010 at 1.30 pm.
These workshops will help farmers who are considering investing in this technology to assess whether this type of machinery is suitable for their farm business. Farmers interested in applying to METS are strongly advised to attend one of these workshops
