Free resources to celebrate Volunteers Week 2012
02 May 2012
Volunteer involving organisations from across Northern Ireland are invited to order free resources to help them celebrate the local heroes in their community as part of Volunteers’ Week 2012.
Wendy Osborne OBE, Chief Executive, Volunteer Now, said, ”Our theme for Volunteers Week 1 – 7 June is Celebrating Local Heroes. We believe all volunteers are heroes in their communities. They’re involved in everything from talking newspapers to management committee for a playgroup, from coaching sports to fundraising for a good cause and giving their time makes a real difference to our communities. Volunteers’ Week is a great time to give these volunteers the recognition they deserve and to publically thank them for their work. We hope voluntary and community groups and charities will order the special volunteer badges, balloons and celebration posters (free to volunteer involving organisations in Northern Ireland) to support their participation in Volunteers’ Week.”
To order the free resources, organisations should visit the Volunteer Now website at www.volunteernow.co.uk to download an order form or call Claire at Volunteer Now on 028 9023 2020.
If you would like to find a volunteering opportunity in your community visit www.volunteernow.co.uk or call 0845 652 6065 to speak to Volunteer Now’s Community Engagement Officers or connect with your local volunteer centre.
