North Wind Blows is a cross-community intergenerational project funded by the International Fund for Ireland and managed by the Rural Development Council under the Integrating Communities programme.
St Joesphs Brass Band, Bready Ulster Scots Pipe Band, Glenties Brass Band and woodwind students from the Donegal School of Music came together on Saturday, April 16th, for the North Wind Blows concert in Strabnane's Alley Theatre. The four bands made up a unique ensemble of brass, highland pipes, woodwind and percussion. They had been rehearsing together since autumn through a project which celebrates some of the many local musical traditions while bringing people together through music. The project also strenghtened musical bonds and partnerships between counties Tyrone and Donegal.
