Sharing Visions

This theme aims to provide NIHE staff with a ‘toolkit’ that will help them imagine “a society without walls and urban renewal with good relations at its heart”.  Research will be initiated that will identify NIHE owned interface areas that would be suitable and ready for removal/re-imaging/renewal.  Upon identification of the target areas, an interactive 3-D visioning model such as “Without Walls Walk through Sketch” will be developed and then used by NIHE staff (and relevant Community Advocates for Change who have participated in the Changing Minds theme) to engage and work with necessary stakeholders to pilot this innovative methodology approach in two interface areas in a top down/bottom up approach.

The Cross Departmental/Cross Community, Interface Working Group (IWG) chaired by Community Relations Council and which NIHE and RDC are both members, will be used as the vehicle for assisting with the development of turning the interface vision into reality.  This theme also aims, for the first time ever, to establish models of urban area renewal that are founded on the principles of community cohesion.
